"MY HERITAGE is Russian, and I have always loved cabbage. My husband didn't like it at all - until I prepared it this way. Since we're diet-conscious these days, I scaled down the cheese and use low-fat milk, but it's still delicious. -Katherine Stallwood, Kennewick, Washington"

"My dear Aunt Alma gave me this recipe just after we were stationed overseas - for a taste of home. Cauliflower and shrimp are baked in a spicy cheese sauce. Adjust the amounts of spices to suit your taste. It is delicious as a main dish with buttered French bread or as a hearty side dish. Enjoy!"

"This is my version of my favorite taco wagon's 'earthy' hot sauce of which I can never get enough. It is a little time consuming, but well worth it. I put it on everything from eggs to tacos, quesadillas, and salads. You can use any combination of chiles (cascabel, chipotle, Californian, New Mexican). For a hotter sauce, you can use all hot New Mexico chiles or add a few dried arbol chiles. For a tangier sauce, add the juice of 1 lime."
